Coby Harden of LaGrange walked out of the Troup County Jail at 6:11 p.m. on Friday, March 4. LaGrange Police said five hours later, he killed T'Quarious Holloway.

Authorities said Harden was in jail almost a year at the time of his release. Troup County Assistant District Attorney Drew Chase said Harden was the primary suspect in a gang related shooting from April 2015. The victim survived and Harden was arrested on aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during a felony and 3 criminal street gang charges. He was booked April 13, but never went to trial.

"The victim in this case simply refused to cooperate. We didn't have a strong enough case without his cooperation, so we had to drop the case," said Chase.

When LaGrange Police arrived at the Hillside Apartments on Spring Street just after 11 p.m on March 4, they found 22-year-old Holloway on the ground suffering from several gunshot wounds. Holloway was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital, but died the following day.

LaGrange Police arrested Harden on Sunday. They said he initially fled with other men in a silver getaway car. Police tracked Harden after they found the silver Chevy Impala they believe is linked to the Holloway shooting.

Harden is back behind bars with no bond.
