GSP K-9 injured in manhunt for 'armed and dangerous' person in Coweta County
COWETA COUNTY, Ga. - The Coweta County Sheriff's Office is currently assisting Georgia State Patrol in its efforts to locate a person who ran away after a vehicle pursuit in the area of South Highway 29 and Calico Loop.
According to the sheriff's office, the person is believed to be "armed and dangerous" and they are asking the public to avoid the area.
A Georgia State Patrol K-9 was injured during the search. The K-9 was flown to BluePearl Pet Hospital in Sandy Springs, according to Sandy Springs police.
Those in the area are asked to get inside and lock the doors and report any suspicious activity.
