Police are investigating an apparent domestic-related shooting of a woman found dead inside a home in unincorporated Lawrenceville Tuesday night.

The Gwinnett County Police Department tells FOX 5 officers responded to a person shot call at around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday at a home on Spanish Moss Court.

By the time officers arrived, it was too late to save the victim.

"They located a female in the residence deceased," Gwinnett County Police Department Cpl. Ryan Winderweedle said.

Officials say the person who pulled the trigger remained at the scene and was taken into custody for questioning.

"Both parties involved live at the residence and are related to each other," Winderweedle said.

According to investigators, the two women got into some kind of argument inside the home that eventually escalated into gunfire.

Police have not released the identity of the victim or her alleged shooter. They say it's too early to say how the two were related.
