ATLANTA - In addition to multiple school districts across metro Atlanta and North Georgia closing on Friday due to anticipated snow and ice, local government offices, as well as some churches, medical offices, businesses, and organizations, are also opting to shut down.

All of North Georgia and parts of Central Georgia will be under a Winter Storm Watch beginning Friday and continuing through Saturday. A watch indicates that heavy snow, sleet, or freezing rain is possible, and Georgians are advised to prepare for potential power outages and hazardous road conditions.
Here are the additional closures that have been announced so far:
- City of Atlanta
- Atlanta Botanical Gardens (midtown and Gainesville) Tickets for Friday evening's Garden Lights, Holiday Nights will be refunded automatically.
- Brookhaven City Hall and recreation centers
- City of Canton
- City of Smyrna
- City of Dallas
- City of Austell
- City of South Fulton
- City of Fairburn
- Clayton County Water Authority
- Barrow County Government
- Cobb County Government
- DeKalb County Government
- DeKalb County Tax Commissioner's Office
- DeKalb County Board of Health
- DeKalb County Public Library (all branches)
- Eco Electric Systems in Braselton
- Forest Park City Hall and administrative offices
- Forsyth County Government
- Fulton County Board of Health clinics
- Georgia Aquarium (late opening at 12 p.m. Jan. 11)
- Gwinnett County Public Library system
- Spruill Center for the Arts
- David West & Associates
- The Weiland Art Warehouse
- Walton County Government
Additionally, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra has announced it is postponing its performance of "The Four Seasons," which had been scheduled for Jan. 10. The new performance will take place on March 11. Ticketholders who can attend on the new date do not need to take any action. Those who cannot attend should review their options online at aso.org/weather-update.
Nakato Japanese Restaurant on Cheshire Bridge Road in Atlanta has also decided to close on Friday. They are inviting patrons to dine with them tonight and receive a $20 gift card if they spend $100 or more.
Stone Mountain Park has also announced that its natural areas and attractions will be closed on Friday. The campground and Evergreen Lakeside Resort will remain open.
Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park has also announced its closure.
