Lockdown ends at Emory Decatur Hospital
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - A metro Atlanta hospital is now no longer under lockdown after a man who barricaded himself in a truck surrendered peacefully to police.
At least a dozen patrol cars and the DeKalb County Bomb Squad were outside the Radiation and Oncology building at the Emory Decatur Hospital on the 2700 block of North Decatur Road after the undescribed threats were made.
Officials tell FOX 5 a patient at the hospital went outside and got into an argument. He then barricaded himself in a truck behind the center's Professional Building. Police were able to successfully coax him out.
No one was been hurt. During the lockdown, witnesses told FOX 5's Alexa Liacko that they were unable to leave the hospital for a time.
Police have not yet released the identity of the man and what charges he will possibly face.
