Two arrests have been made in connection to the four escaped inmates from the Bibb County Jail. Officials believe a man and a woman played a part in helping the inmates get away.

Mykia Williams and Jakaylen Williams were identified as the arrestees, according to Bibb County Jail records obtained by Fox-affiliate WGXA.

Investigators believe Mykia helped the four inmates escape from the Bibb County jail, but the documents do not detail how she was involved.

She was arrested Monday following a multi-agency follow-up on leads of the escaped inmates at The Pines Apartments. That's when officials heard gunshots and discovered a murder suspect, 23-year-old Christian Demond Williams, inside the unit where Mykia lived.

Williams disappeared on March 6, 2023 just hours before he was scheduled to go on trial for murder in March, and hadn't been seen since.

He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition Monday. He was pronounced dead at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday. Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said it was likely a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Jakaylen was arrested Tuesday morning on accusations that he had stolen a Dodge Challenger from Enterprise Rent-a-Car on Oct. 9. Investigators say a week later, the vehicle was used as the getaway car during the four inmates' escape.

Jakaylen was also charged with aggravated assault, stemming from an incident in March in which investigators said he assaulted his ex-girlfriend. They said he left the scene of that crime when deputies responded.

Both Mykia and Jakaylen are being held in separate facilities without bond.
