LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Detectives have arrested one man and are looking for others after they say multiple trailers of movie production equipment had been stolen in Gwinnett County.
According to Gwinnett County detectives, several trailers had been stolen from businesses on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard between Jan. 11 and Jan. 14. Of those, three were filled with robotic camera cranes and other movie production equipment.
Security footage showed two vehicles, one dark pickup truck and one white pickup truck, removing the trailers.
The company owner told FOX 5 News that he found one of his trailers on Craigslist and made arrangements with them to meet at Turner Field.
When the suspect, identified as 49-year-old Dewayne Antwain Williams, got to the location, Atlanta Police officers were waiting to arrest him. He's currently in the Gwinnett County Detention Center without bail.
Police say the suspect driving the white pickup truck has not been arrested. The two other trailers and none of the contents of the trailers, which include a green boom lift, two robotic camera cranes, a custom electric car used for mounting cameras, and shooting film, have been recovered.
If you have any information on the theft, please contact Gwinnett County Det. Breedlove at 770-513-5393 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
