Man arrested for aggravated assault at Gwinnett County gas station

GWINNETT COUNTRY, Ga. - A man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault following a violent altercation at a gas station in unincorporated Suwanee, according to the Gwinnett County Police Department.
What we know:
The incident occurred on Jan. 29 at a gas station located at 2090 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road. Officers from the department’s Central Precinct responded to reports of a shooting and found a man suffering from a head wound. The victim initially told police that an unknown male had shot him, and he was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
However, after further investigation, detectives determined that the victim had not been shot but instead was pistol-whipped, causing the firearm to discharge. Surveillance footage revealed that the confrontation began after the two men shoulder-checked each other inside the gas station.
Investigators identified the suspect as 30-year-old Isaac Hernandez of Gainesville. With assistance from the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, authorities located and arrested Hernandez at a known location in Gainesville without incident.
Hernandez has been booked into the Gwinnett County Jail, where he faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault, battery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
