Man arrested in Atlanta for attacks on transgender individuals
ATLANTA - Atlanta police have apprehended 28-year-old Michael Boykin, a suspect wanted in connection with multiple assaults targeting transgender individuals in the city. Boykin was arrested on Dec. 16 near 160 Ponce De Leon Avenue NE following a tip provided to law enforcement.
Officers located and detained Boykin during a canvass of the area. At the time of his arrest, Boykin was believed to be armed and dangerous, although no firearm was reported in the arrest details.
Boykin faces several charges, including possession of drug-related objects, as well as outstanding warrants for aggravated assault, criminal trespass, battery, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
