ACWORTH, Ga. - Acworth police said officers arrested a man murdering someone during an armed robbery at a convenience store.
Police said 59-year-old Abu Majfuj Ahammed was found dead at Kwik E Mart on Acworth Oaks Drive. Police report that a man went into the store wearing a ski mask.
"We are a small town and we don’t have very many happen within the city," Corporal Stanley Almon with the Acworth Police Department said.
Police said witnesses saw the disguised suspect drive away from the store in a blue Nissan sedan.

Police arrested 59-year-old Marcus Bass two days later and charged him with murder, armed robbery, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The Cobb County Police Department fugitive unit tracked down Marcus Bass.
"It’s so close to home. Me and my daughter can walk here. It’s so close to home," Shavonne Grant said.
Grant stops by the store daily and had a connection with Ahammed.
"I am shocked that this happened in my community. It’s hard. He was a good guy, always happy to see you. I’m just shocked," Grant said.
Longtime customers left flowers outside the door of the store as they remember the owner.
"The guy who worked here had a brand new baby. He had a little girl and a little boy as far as I know but I know he just had a brand new baby," one woman said.
Police confirm the suspect was a longtime customer. Customers said the owner was always friendly to him.
"He did what he could for everyone. He let him (the suspect) BBQ in the parking lot. The man who shot him, the owner let him BBQ in the parking lot and then you come back and shoot this man?" Another Woman said.
"He needs to be punished to the fullest extent. He needs to be punished. We need to stop the gun violence," Grant said.
