DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - It was a special and one-of-a-kind experience for a special needs man at DeKalb County Fire-Rescue.
Wednesday, 66-year-old Fred Gant, who has been diagnosed with autism, got the chance to be a fire marshal for the day.
It's part of a new program set up by DeKalb County Fire-Rescue to provide fire safety education and activities for residents with severe cognitive disabilities.
And as a special bonus, Wednesday happened to be Mr. Gant's birthday!
Happy birthday to him!
