Man charged with teen's murder on two-year anniversary of her death

On May 31, 2016, Bridget Shiel was found shot to death and lying naked in Oakland City Park in southwest Atlanta. Investigators believe she was gunned down in the middle of the night, just hours before her body was found. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots just after 1 a.m. that morning.

Thursday morning, two years after Shiel was murdered, Atlanta Police said they had secured arrest warrants for 28-year-old Christopher Spencer. He's been charged with her death.
According to police, Spencer is already in custody, serving prison time for the murder of an elderly couple in a DeKalb County home invasion.
"Homicide investigators pursued numerous leads over the past two years, eventually finding enough evidence to charge Spencer," Atlanta Police said in a news release Thursday.
