Police investigating deadly Gwinnett auto shop shooting

Gwinnett County police are investigating a deadly shooting that claimed the life of one person Monday morning at an auto shop.

Police say they are not looking for a suspect, but that they are trying to figure out a motive. Investigators say they have not ruled out self-defense.

Officers were called around 10:30 a.m. to the auto detailer, located off Stone Mountain Highway. When they arrived, they say they found a man dead from a gunshot wound in the back of the building.

Police say several car businesses lease space in the facility, but that the shooting victim does not appear to be a customer known to any of the shop owners or employees.

"Not sure who had the fire arms or how the altercation took place, but we do have the fire arms and was between business owner and the victim," Gwinnett County Police PIO Hideshi Valle told FOX 5.

Police have not yet released the identity of the victim. Right now, no one is in custody, but investigators say there does not appear to be any threat to the public, although they ask anyone with information to come forward.
