STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. - DeKalb County Police are investigating after a man was found shot to death in Stone Mountain Tuesday morning.
The body was in the grass outside an apartment complex on Wood Bend Drive. Police are ruling the man's death a homicide.
"We got a call around 7:40 a.m.," Officer Shiera Campbell said. "The person who called told us they were on their morning walk when they saw the body lying in the grass right in between an apartment building and the mailboxes."
Police have not identified the victim but they say he appears to be in his late-20s and was found wearing full construction gear, including a hard hat.
"Looks like he works for a construction company or has an industrial type job," Campbell said.
The Medical Examiner at the scene told FOX 5 the man appeared to have died from a single gunshot wound to the head.
"We haven't been able to track down any witnesses at this time, but we are still early on in the investigation," Campbell said.
Police are asking anyone with any information to come forward.
