DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A family is desperately seeking answers after a man was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in south DeKalb County.
Relatives told FOX 5 the victim was 54-year-old Walter Seals. The crash happened January 28 near the intersection of Lloyd Road and Shepherd Drive in unincorporated Decatur, according to DeKalb County Police.
FOX 5's Marissa Mitchell spoke with several members of Seals' family Thursday.
"It was like he was just a piece of cardboard that they ran over that's what really hurts," said Willie Seals, the victim's father.
Investigators said the driver struck Seals from behind, leaving him on the ground and his belongings scattered, according to an incident report.
Seals' loved-ones say he was walking from his sister's house when he was hit. They believe the driver was in a white vehicle.
