Man rescued after falling off Yonah Mountain
WHITE COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A patient has been rushed to a trauma center after falling at least 75 feet off the rock face of Yonah Mountain Sunday.
Officials say White County 911 received an emergency call Sunday afternoon around 4 that the man had fallen off the mountain. In total, officials say the man fell between 75 and 100 feet.
After several hours, medical officials were able to use a rope system to safely remove the man from the bottom of the rock face and transport him to the trauma center.
White County Emergency Medical Services shared a photo of the rescue attempt on Facebook. In the photo multiple emergency service team members surround the injured man lying on a stretcher.
On the post, officials called the rescue "a team effort."
The identity of the man and his current condition have not been released.
