Man shot and killed at Gulf Shores gas station
GULF SHORES, Ala. (AP) - An Alabama man has been charged with murder in the shooting death of another man at a Gulf Shores gas station.
According to a statement from the Gulf Shores Police Department, 26-year-old Albert Lequentin Smiley was arrested for the killing of a 31-year-old Scott Vann West on Monday.
Police say officers responded to a report of a shooting at about 8 a.m. Monday at an Exxon station. They arrived to find Vann West shot in the parking lot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Smiley was arrested a short time later without incident.
Police say there aren't other suspects in the shooting. It's unclear if Smiley has an attorney.
