1 dead in McDaniel Street SW shooting
Atlanta police and SWAT members are looking for a suspect in a fatal shooting on McDaniel Street SW. The victim, who was still breathing when police arrived to the scene, later died in the hospital.
ATLANTA - Atlanta police are investigating a deadly shooting in the 500 block of McDaniel Street SW, near Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard SW, in the Mechanicsville area.
Police say they responded to a person shot call just before noon on Tuesday morning. When they arrived, officers found a man with an apparent gunshot wound.
The man was rushed to an area hospital in critical condition, but later died.
The name of the man has not been released.

Atlanta police and SWAT have McDaniel Street SW shut down as they search for a person of interest in a shooting from Tuesday morning. Police say the victim was still breathing when medics rushed him to the hospital.
At 3:20 p.m., police said they were looking for a person of interest and requested th assistance of tactical units out of an abundance of caution.
The SWAT team eventually was able to clear the home in the search for a possible suspect. No one was found.
The Atlanta Police Department Homicide Unit is investigating.
