Man stabbed after Falcons game
ATLANTA - A fun day at the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium ended with a season ticket holder getting stabbed. Atlanta Police are trying to find the attacker who stabbed a man after Sunday's game, who police believe is an Uber driver.
Mostapha Radwane and his son enjoyed the game at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium Sunday. They were looking for something to eat at the intersection of Centennial Olympic Park Drive and Andrew Young International Boulevard when they noticed an aggressive car that almost ran them over.
“We been crossing the street and somebody didn't stop because of the crowd, then my son tap on his truck,” said Radwane.
Radwane said he and his son kept walking, but police said a man they believe is an Uber driver ambushed his son.
“He punched, I saw the punch, I didn't see the knife, the guy was hiding the knife or something,” said Radwane.
Radwane said he broke up the fight between his son Adam and the Uber driver. They kept walking then, about five minutes later he discovered blood everywhere.
“I see blood all over me. I checked myself, then I looked at my son, I see a hole in his jersey and blood is coming,” said Radwane.
The 24-year-old man was rushed to Atlanta Medical Center with a collapsed lung.
Police said they want your help finding the Uber driver
“The victim distinctly remembers it having some Uber stickers on it. It is a black Altima,” said Capt. Ricardo Vazquez.
Meanwhile, the Radwanes aren't sure they want to return to another Falcons game.
“Twenty-five years in this country and never something happens like this, I don't know,” said Radwane.
Police said so many people were there, they believe someone saw something. Anyone with information can call Atlanta Crime Stoppers and may be eligible for a $2,000 reward.
