Man wanted in deadly shooting of Lindbergh-area valet arrested, police say

Police in Atlanta say the man responsible for the deadly shooting of Buckhead parking valet Harrison R. Olvey has been arrested.

Randy A. King, 22, is facing a murder charge.

Atlanta police say he was the gunman who shot Olvey after Olvey tried to stop three men from breaking into a car at a nightclub parking lot during the early morning hours of Sept. 3.

It happened near the Longhorn Steakhouse located at 2430 Piedmont Road NE.

Olvey, who worked as a valet in the Lindbergh area, was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he died.

Autumn Ernst, Olvey's mother, hasn't been able to sleep since she got the news her son had been killed.

"Every day I just relive that phone call and that pain," she said.

Olvey's family remembers the 25-year-old as a fun man with a great future ahead of him. He had just graduated from Kennesaw State University and was about to start a new job.

"We talked every day, and it's been really hard not to hear his voice," Ernst said.

In the days after his murder, Ernst told FOX 5 that she wanted her son's killer to never see the light of day again.

"He needs to be in prison forever and never step outside a prison ever again," she said.

Earlier this week, Crime Stoppers Atlanta increased the reward for tips leading to the arrest and indictment of King to $5,000.

King was booked into the Fulton County Jail. He is also charged with parole violation.

He'll go before a Fulton County judge for the first time Thursday morning.
