Man's stepfather arrested for his murder at Gwinnett County hotel
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - Detectives have charged 54-year-old Johnny Mays Blackshear Jr., of Stockbridge, with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes in connection with the fatal shooting of his stepson, Jordan Calloway, 26, of Duluth.

The backstory:
The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. Jan. 28 at a hotel near Venture Parkway and Market Street. Officers from the Central Precinct responded to a report of a person shot and discovered Calloway suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers rendered aid, and paramedics transported him to the hospital, where he later died.

Investigators identified Blackshear as the suspect in the domestic-related shooting. Coordinating with the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, detectives facilitated a traffic stop on Blackshear’s vehicle, leading to his arrest without incident. Blackshear is now being held at the Gwinnett County Jail.
