Marine recruit from Decatur dies during fitness test
PARRIS ISLAND, S.C. - A Marine recruit native to Georgia died during a fitness test this week.
Private First Class Noah Evans passed away Tuesday while conducting a physical fitness test aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, officials said.
The 21-year-old was a native of Decatur.
Pfc. Evans was a recruit assigned to Mike Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, Recruit Training Regiment.
The cause of death is currently under investigation.
