The Atlanta City Council honored a MARTA bus driver for an act of heroism.

City officials say Winston Douglas was driving his regular route back in September when he noticed a man attacking a woman.

Police say the man was repeatedly stabbing 63-year-old Terri Bradley. So, Douglas jumped off the bus, grabbed a stick, and started beating the attacker.

Bradley was stabbed more than 20 times but survived.

She and her family were there for Monday's ceremony.
