The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer-involved shooting at the Rev. James Orange Park in Oakland City.

The shooting happened shortly after 8 p.m. on the 1300 block of Oakland Lane SW.

According to the GBI, MARTA police officers arrived at the nearby Oakland City MARTA station after reports of a robbery.

At the scene, officers say the suspect in the case, identified as 18-year-old Carnell Kelly, ran out of the station and into The Rev. James Orange Park.

When confronted, the GBI reports that Kelly pulled out a knife and began struggling with the police officers who were trying to arrest him. At some point during the struggle, one officer's gun was fired, but did not hit anyone.

Kelly was arrested after an officer hit him with a Taser. He declined treatment at the scene.
