Massive $12M marijuana operation found on Georgia chicken farm
MADISON COUNTY, Ga. - Deputies in Madison County have discovered a "large-scale" marijuana growing operation in a chicken farm.
The Madison County Sheriff's Office said they met with the Hart EMC at a farm the Harrison community. After an investigation of the old chicken farm, they discovered the grow operation hidden inside.
Officials say the site was abandoned during the investigation. Arrests are pending.
Police removed about 3,500 marijuana plants and around 250 pounds of "finished product." The street value is estimated to be $12 million.
The investigation is ongoing.
