Mayor Reed delivers State of the City address
ATLANTA - Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed delivered the annual State of the City address Thursday morning. In his address, the Mayor focused on accomplishments in 2015 and his plans for the city in 2016.
"After each success we didn't get tired," Reed said at the beginning of the address. "We turned to the next challenge.
Mayor Reed said because Atlanta has pushed together, the city has known success together. He said this would not be possible without the Atlanta City Council, members of Atlanta's judiciary and various other partners in success.
"Our city is financially stronger than before," he said.
Reed's State of the City address included various other achievements for Atlanta such as the city being one of the four most visited cities in the United States and crime being down 24% since the start of Reed's first term.
Community leaders from businesses, faith organizations and non-profit groups were in the audience.
