Georgia Lottery officials announced Tuesday the Mega Millions jackpot has jumped from $512 million to $522 million. Lottery officials credit brisk sales for the jackpot increase.

The winning numbers will be drawn on Tuesday at 11 p.m.

If you are lucky enough to win, Mega Millions offers two jackpot payment options: the $522 million annuity prize paid out as one immediate payment followed by 29 annual graduated payments, or the cash option, which is about $308 million...not bad, considering it only takes $2 to play!

Tickets can be purchased at Georgia Lottery retailers statewide. Georgia residents can also buy Mega Millions tickets via the Georgia Lottery app or online at www.galottery.com

Proceeds from Mega Millions and Georgia Lottery games will benefit education in the state of Georgia.

A news release stated the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned more than $19.8 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.8 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.6 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary pre-kindergarten program.
