ATLANTA - A public memorial service for Steve Mensch, the president of Tyler Perry Studios, will take place on Saturday, Dec. 28, at noon at the Tara Theatre, located at 2345 Cheshire Bridge Rd. NE in Atlanta.
Mensch passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 6, while piloting a custom-built plane that reflected his passion for aviation and innovation. He was a beloved husband, father, and industry leader whose work left a lasting impact on the entertainment community.
"Steve was a visionary leader at Tyler Perry Studios and left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry and the countless lives he touched through his mentorship and kindness," a statement read.
In addition to his career in storytelling, Mensch’s dedication to flying was a defining passion. He is survived by his wife, Danila Mensch, and their three children: Adelayna Mensch, Charles Mensch, and Josephine Mensch.
"Steve’s legacy of creativity, generosity, and love will endure in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed by all who have had the pleasure of knowing him," the family shared.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Steve Mensch Family Fund at the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, supporting causes close to his heart.
