Metro Atlanta culinary talent named semi-finalists for James Beard Awards

More than ten local restaurants, chefs, and beverage professionals have been named semi-finalists for this year's prestigious James Beard Awards. The awards, established in 1990, are among the nation's most esteemed honors, celebrating exceptional talent in the culinary and food media industries.

In metro Atlanta, several establishments have made the semi-finalist list. 

Decatur's Casa Balam is recognized as a contender for Best New Restaurant, while Kimball House is vying for the title of Outstanding Restaurant. Aria, known for its exceptional service, is a semi-finalist for Outstanding Hospitality.

Lucian Books and Wine, located in Buckhead, is under consideration for the Outstanding Wine and Other Beverages Program. Meanwhile, Marietta Proper in Marietta is among the semi-finalists for Best New Bar.

Kursten Berry from Twisted Soul Cookhouse & Pours in Atlanta has been acknowledged as a semi-finalist for Outstanding Professional in Cocktail Service, highlighting the city's diverse and innovative beverage scene.

The Best Chef category features several talented individuals from Georgia, including Rod Lassiter and Parnass Savang of Talat Market in Atlanta, Bruce Logue of BoccaLupo in Atlanta, and Brian So of Spring in Marietta.

The official nominees will be announced on April 2, with the winners revealed at the James Beard Restaurant and Chef Awards ceremony in June, held in Chicago. This recognition underscores Georgia's growing influence and excellence in the culinary world.
