Update: Missing Alabama girls picked up by family, police say

The two missing Alabama teens whose car was found in metro Atlanta have been picked up by family members, according to the Atlanta Police Department. No other information was released. It is not known if they were picked up in Atlanta or elsewhere.

The search is on for two missing Alabama teens in Atlanta after officials say a crucial piece of evidence was found in the city.

The Mobile County Sheriff's Office and the Citronelle Police Department are asking for help finding 15-year-old Kaysha Christopher Simmons and 16-year-old Trisity Nevaeh Skipper.

According to investigators, Skipper and Simmons left Cintronelle, Alabama, on Sunday, traveling in a blue 2018 Hyundai Sonata with the license plate 2A0UW62.

The car was found abandoned on Monday in Atlanta.

Skipper is described as 5-feet-5-inches tall with a weight of around 145 pounds. She has green eyes and brown hair.

Simmons is 5-feet-6-inches tall with a weight of 110 pounds and has brown eyes and black hair.
