FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. - It's been 20 years since the body of 11-year-old Levi Frady was found riddled with bullets and dumped in the woods at the Dawson Forest Wildlife Management Area in Dawson County.
"His mother and sister reported him missing the day before his body was found," GBI Deputy Director Bahn Rich said. "They went out looking for him. He was at a friend's house. He normally rode his bike home. His family found his bicycle on Little Mill Road in Forsyth County less than a mile from his home, but they couldn't find him."
Levi's disappearance and death sparked the creation of Levi's Call, Georgia's version of the Amber Alert.
"It's hard to believe it's been this long," Rich said. "This is a parent's worst nightmare."
Sunday, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation re-released two sketches of persons of interest in Levi's murder.
"Those composite sketches came out of an interview with neighbors and people in the community," Rich said. "The first person of interest was seen walking down Little Mill Road. That's the last place Levi was seen alive. The second person of interest was seen at the same location Levi's body was found."
Rich told FOX 5 News on Monday, the department remains hopeful that the case will be solved, but said the key to solving Levi's murder will be someone coming forward with information.
"Someone out there knows something," Rich said. "We are asking you to please come forward with whatever information you may have because it may be exactly what we need to solve this case."
Levi would have been 31 years old.
