Over 130 vehicles broken into at apartments

Over 130 cars were hit by thieves in Henry County at two different apartment communities. Neighbors say they are frustrated and demand answers.

Two different apartment communities in Stockbridge were hit by thieves overnight leaving a trail of destruction and glass. Stockbridge Police tell FOX 5 more than 130 vehicles were broken into.

"The only thing that they broke was my front passenger window," said Michelle, who did not want to give her last name.

Michelle was one of the unlucky victims. She says around 4:30 Sunday morning she heard a noise and looked outside.

"The few of them that I did see, they had their cell phones in their hands, and they were using them as flashlights and shining them into people's cars," she said.

She immediately called 911, but the group of five or six males took off in a dark-colored sedan before police arrived.

"The sad thing about it is other people said they heard things, but nobody moved on it, and nobody was vigilant," Michelle said.

Stockbridge Police say in all 132 vehicles were broken into at the Abbey at Eagles Landing Apartments and North Park at Eagles Landing Apartments.

"I think they're just professionals, and they know what they are doing," Michelle said. "I heard the officer say they used the rain as a way to victimize people."

Michelle believes the car burglars were teens. While she did not have anything taken, neighbors say some guns were stolen. She now has a strong message for those responsible.

"Shame on you and you should be ashamed of what you did, but guess what? God will make sure that whatever you did to people, you will be repaid for what you did," Michelle said. "Shame on the parents that's not teaching and helping their child not to do this sort of stuff."

Investigators say the group was seen driving off in a dark-colored sedan, but does not have a tag number.

If you know anything you are asked to call police.
