More than 140 animals removed from Balch Springs home
BALCH SPRINGS, Texas - Dozens of cats, dogs and other small animals were rescued from a home in Balch Springs Wednesday.
According to the SPCA of Texas, someone filed a cruelty complaint about the homeowner in the 2600 block of Tamara Road.
Investigators found at least a dozen dead animals on the property and were able to obtain a warrant because the owner wasn’t in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Balch Springs animal control officers and the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office helped to remove about 100 cats, 40 dogs, a guinea pig and several birds.
