US Postal Service honoring Muhammad Ali with forever stamps
Muhammad Ali is remembered across the globe as a champion in and out of the boxing ring for creating change, pursuing justice, and inspiring greatness. The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) is honoring "The Greatest" and his legacy with forever stamps.
The backstory:
Born Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. in Louisville, Ali was a three-time world heavyweight champion and a global symbol of courage and compassion for his humanitarian work supporting medical relief, feeding the hungry and speaking up for those in need across the world.
Ali was named the United Nation's Messenger of Peace in 1998 and in 2005 received the nation’s highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom from former President George W. Bush.
That same year, Muhammad and his wife, Lonnie, founded the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville.

The new USPS forever stamps will be issued on Jan. 15, 2026 in Louisville, KY, Ali’s hometown.
