Murder suspect shot by DeKalb County deputy during arrest attempt
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - A murder suspect was shot by a DeKalb County deputy working with the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force during an attempted arrest at the Covington Glen Apartments, authorities said.
The incident occurred around 4 p.m. Thursday at the apartment complex located in the 5800 block of Covington Highway.
What we know:
According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Marquiece Beadle, 34, of Decatur, ran from U.S. Marshals while attempting to serve a warrant.
Investigators say Beadle encountered the deputy outside and reached for a gun, prompting the deputy to open fire.
Beadle was hit and was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Crime scene tape surrounded one of the apartment buildings in the complex.
