Neighbors meet after rapper gunned down

People in the neighborhood where a rapper was gunned down outside a recording studio blame the studio for a rise in crime. Many of the residents met Tuesday night with police and city leaders about what can be done.

Late Friday night, bullets started flying outside Street Execs on Defoor Place in northwest Atlanta. Trentavious White, known by his stage name Bankroll Fresh, was killed. Investigators found more than 50 shell cases in the streets.

Tim Schmitt lives just down the road. He showed FOX 5 News a bullet he found lodged in the side of his home.

Residents in the Underwood Hills Neighborhood said they've complained about the studio in the past and have met with the owner. They said some changes were made, but after the weekend shooting, they want the studio shut down.

Jill Chambers, a spokeswoman for the studio, was at the meeting and did not respond directly to the calls for shutting down the studio.

“The studio has ceased all studio operations until we lay our friend to rest,” said Chambers.
