New video shows suspect in string of car break-ins
COWETA COUNTY, Ga. - New video shows a suspected thief and he might be wearing something that can help police identify him. Surveillance video from a Walmart shows the man wearing what police believe is a lanyard with a keycard on it. Investigators say what he is doing is shopping with a stolen credit card.
“The lanyard and keycard could be work-related. He might work at a warehouse or something,” said Investigator Cory Mauldin with the Coweta County Sheriff's Office.
The same man was captured on surveillance video last month in the Summer Grove neighborhood in Newnan. There he was seen leaving cars alone that were locked and opening doors that were not. Then he was seen stealing the owner’s belongings inside the vehicle.
In the Walmart surveillance video, there are actually three men who are suspected of breaking into cars in the Coweta County area.
Anyone with information that could help police should call Atlanta Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS. There is a $2,000 reward for information in the case.
