Man with special needs disappears in Newton County

The Newton County Sheriff's Office is searching for a missing man they say has special needs. A Mattie's Call, Georgia's emergency missing alert for disabled or elderly persons, has since been issued.

Quo "Q" Sumrell was last seen walking away from his home on River Cove Ridge in Covington on Dec. 21 at around 7 a.m., according to deputies.

The 48-year-old was wearing blue jeans, a plain gray zippered hoodie and black slides. Deputies say he is balding and was not wearing a hat at the time.

Sumrell is also 5-feet-9-inches tall and weighs at least 195 pounds.
