68-year-old man dies after shooting at Porterdale Bar and Grill, deputies say
PORTERDALE, Ga. - The Newton County Sheriff's Office and Porterdale Police Department are investigating a deadly shooting at a local bar.
A 68-year-old man was shot sometime between 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. at Porterdale Bar and Grill. EMS treated him at the scene before he was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
He was later identified as Kyle Fowler of Covington.
The Newton County Sheriff's Office arrested 34-year-old William Brown of McDonough. He was charged with three counts of aggravated assault, murder and possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of, or attempt to commit, certain crimes. There has been no word on a motive yet.
