No Charges for Parkview High School Baseball Players
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - The six Parkview High School baseball players accused of physically and sexually assaulting younger players will not face criminal charges in South Carolina. That's according to the lawyer for one of the alleged victims.
Attorney Kurt Hilbert says a North Charleston Police sergeant told him the hazing was at most 3rd degree assault and the department wouldn't pursue that kind of case across state lines.
The Parkview players were in South Carolina in early June for a baseball tournament.
Four freshmen were allegedly assaulted by upperclassmen in their hotel room.
The Gwinnett County School Board suspended those upperclassmen last month and they are appealing.
Attorney Hilbert says he's extremely disappointed by the decision not to prosecute the players.
