NORCROSS, Ga. - Investigators have caught the 61-year-old woman accused of intentionally setting two homes on fire in Norcross on June 1.
When Gwinnett County fire crews responded to Buckingham Court around 5:45 am, they found the garage fully engulfed in flames and one man seriously injured on scene.
Moments later, crews responded to that second home in the 1300 block of Turners Ridge Drive where flames had spread to a car in the driveway.
It didn’t take long for investigators to determine the fires had an exterior source—Molotov cocktails. They identified 61-year-old Hong T Huynh as the prime suspect.
One resident who lives off of Buckingham Court says she was stunned to learn it wasn’t an accident.
"I think that’s crazy that someone would actually, like, throw a bomb or explosive at someone’s house in the middle of the morning, early morning," Daniela Argeullo told FOX 5.
Huynh was arrested on Friday. She is currently being held without bond. Her suspected motive for starting the fires has not been revealed.
A total of 8 adults and two minors were displaced by the fires. The Red Cross is assisting those families.
Investigators are asking anyone with more information about either of the fires to reach out.
