ATLANTA - The man accused of shooting an East Atlanta man to death inside his own apartment pleads not guilty.
Police said Jeffries Anderson is the man seen on surveillance video breaking into the apartment complex and walking in the hallways and garage.

According to police, Anderson shot and killed 30-year-old Alex Newton at the Alexan EAV apartments on Metropolitan Avenue on October 31, 2016.
Officers said Anderson broke into Newton’s apartment and shot him when he came home from lunch, catching Anderson in the act.
Police said the man shot Newton and took off.
