Officers in Sandy Springs say they've caught a serial package thief who has been striking multiple times in one neighborhood.

Last week, homeowners in the Overton Hills neighborhood talked to FOX 5 about their frustration with a thief who has hit homes more than once, picking and choosing exactly what he wanted from their Amazon deliveries.

"The second time a package was stolen we were in a car on the way to the airport and I literally was watching the man put the package in his backpack on my doorstep," homeowner Valerie Failla said. "He doesn't care. He stole a package, put it right in the backpack, walked over the lawn – he doesn't even hustle!"

After an investigation, officials say they've identified the thief as 48-year-old Sandy Springs resident Randy Lavern Lowe.

Officers took Lowe into custody and charged him with two counts of theft by taking.

Detectives are now asking anyone with information about thefts in the area to contact them at (770) 551-6900.
