Officials investigate drowning at Haralson County lake
HARALSON COUNTY, Ga. - Officials have recovered a man who drowned over the weekend on a lake in Haralson County.
Investigators say it happened at VFW Post 7402 on Seabreeze Lake on Friday.
Police say two men were on a boat in the lake when it ran hot and they hated to wait for it to cool down.
According to officials, Christopher Phather jumped into the water to cool off and never came back to the boat.
Haralson County Fire and the Department of Natural Resources shut the park down and closed the lake Saturday night. They expected to do a full search Sunday morning.
Phather's body was recovered Monday morning at 6:30.
The GBI are preparing to do an autopsy. The investigation is still ongoing.
