Family of man killed outside of South Fulton West Fargo devastated by loss

Bryan Brown was found shot to death inside a car in the parking lot of a South Fulton Wells Fargo. His family says they will not rest until he gets justice.

Police say they are now treating the discovery of a man found shot to death in a car in front of a South Fulton bank last Friday morning as a homicide.

The discovery was made just before 10 a.m. in the parking lot of the Wells Fargo bank located in the 5000 block of Old Bill Cook Road at the corner of Northfield Blvd SW.

South Fulton Police say surveillance video shows the man backing his vehicle into a parking lot around 2 a.m. on Feb. 10. He was found dead in his car later that morning.

A bullet hole could be seen on the driver’s side window.

"This is a family that is broken apart," the victim’s husband, Philippe Bertrand, said.

Family members identify the man as Bryan Brown.

Initially, investigators thought the deadly shooting could have been a suicide because no one was seen on surveillance video.

Now investigators say they believe that someone shot Brown.

"From what we see, we know he was out handling some stuff. But for us, it’s more about not just getting justice, but protecting the next person," Samuel Chatman said.

His best friend Samuel Chatman is still struggling to grasp what happened.

"Bryan was all about unity. If he had to say something to be remembered for it would be ‘unity’," Chatman said.

"We must stop killing each other. You just walked away and let him bleed to death like an animal is unacceptable," Bertrand said.

Loved ones say Brown had a passion for photography and a son who just turned 18. Instead of celebrating that birthday, the young man had to identify his father’s body.

"I will not rest until I know who killed the love of my life," Bertrand said.

As South Fulton Police continue their investigation, the family encourages peace and kindness while they plead for answers.

There is a $2,000 reward being offered by Crime Stoppers Atlanta for tips that lead to the arrest and indictment of the shooter.
