Outsourcing service call center to add 500 jobs in Georgia

An outsourcing service provider plans to hire 500 full-time employees to staff a Georgia call center.

The Augusta Chronicle reports that the Sitel Group said Wednesday that it would host on-site interviews at its customer service center in Augusta on July 20. The new hires are intended to support one of the company's largest retail clients, described as a "multibillion dollar global wholesale leader."

The company developed its Augusta call center in 1999. This hiring round would bring the company's total Augusta employment to 1,200.

Sitel Site Director Robbie Jalbert says the company has significantly expanded over the past year, adding 400 positions.
