The Peach Drop has begun and Atlanta native Big Boi is on the stage. It's almost time to ring in the New Year.
What is the peach made from?
The 8-foot-tall peach is made of fiberglass and foam and weighs 800 pounds.

Why was the Peach Drop canceled?
The Peach Drop was canceled in 2020 by then-Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms as the event was being "re-evaluated." It was then canceled for the following two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was also canceled in 2024 so the city could focus on the 50th anniversary of hip-hop music.
How many people attend the Peach Drop?
Attendance varies from year to year, with weather playing a big factor in the crowd size. An average of 60,000 people typically attend, with some years spiking to 100,000.
Is the Peach Drop an annual event?
