The Peach Drop is back with some special guests to ring in 2025.

On Wednesday, Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens announced the city's traditional New Year's Eve event was returning to Underground Atlanta.

Rapper and philanthropist Big Boi, one-half of the iconic Atlanta hip-hop group Outkast, will headline the show.

Joining Big Boi at the event will be American rock band Neon Trees and singer-songwriter RES.

"It is my pleasure to bring this beloved tradition back to heart of Downtown Atlanta during its truly historic and transformative renaissance," said Mayor Dickens. "This event is a fun and exciting way for residents and visitors alike to ring in 2025 like only we can in the ATL."

Award-winning radio personality and Atlanta native Ryan Cameron will be the host of the event.

"I look forward to again being up close and personal with 100K of ATL’s finest," Cameron said.

The event, which will be produced by Live Nation, is free and starts at 6 p.m. on New Year's Eve at Underground Atlanta.

FOX 5 spoke to many Atlanta residents who were happy to hear about the Peach Drop's return.

"I'm happy they're bringing it back. I went as a child and I didn't get a chance to go as an adult because of just living," Eric Rawlins said.

Resident Francis Walden said she hoped that the event will be one that brings the city together.

"I think it would be a good idea for people to come out so that they can enjoy themselves," she said. "Just to come together as a positive unity and enjoy the new year coming in."

Over the years, the Peach Drop has showcased notable performers, including Ludacris, Little Richard, Janelle Monáe, and Miranda Lambert.

The event was canceled in 2019 due to venue issues and was further disrupted in 2020 and 2021 by the COVID-19 pandemic.

It returned in 2022 with performances by Jermaine Dupri, Da Brat and others.

Last year, the Peach Drop was canceled after city leaders decided to dedicate resources to celebrating the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop and other local activities.
