Pest control tech accused of stealing from home

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. - A Peachtree City couple says their pest control technician was doing more than getting rid of bugs in their house. They were missing their belongings too.
Peachtree City police say they have arrested pest control technician Phillip Blalock, and they charged him with felony theft by taking.
Charles and Carol Felix say their grandson’s Xbox was missing after their bug man recently sprayed their house. They have a doorbell camera video of him entering their home with a large toolbox. They say their grandson was the one who later noticed the Xbox missing.
"He came out and said, ‘The Xbox is gone, where did you put it?’ The first reaction was, ‘I just misplaced it,’ and looked in all the closets until I realized it literally was just not here," Carol said.
They filed a police report back in July with the Peachtree City Police Department. Police say last month the Xbox turned up at Stone Mountain pawn shop. Police say they pulled the surveillance, and they say sure enough, it was Felix’s pest control technician Phillip Blalock who pawned their video game system. They say he was even wearing the company’s uniform even though it was months later.
Police say they were able to get the couple's property back because they knew the serial number. That’s super important.
"We really need people to record the serial numbers or information marks of their high value items and take pictures of them. That’s really important," said Sgt. Brad Milstein, Peachtree City Police.
Carol and Charles say when they plugged their grandson’s Xbox back in, Phillip Blalock's actual name and screen name popped up because he was apparently still logged in.
Police say they are charging Blalock with felony theft by taking.
"You think of over the years how many people we’ve let come into the house, whether it be workmen or anything else. You don’t follow them around. You don’t stand over them. They are honest people. They are going to do the work and leave," said Charles Felix.
But it apparently didn’t happen that way this time.
FOX 5 reached out to Terminix; the company Phillip Blaylock worked for. Here’s what Terminix wrote:
"The company confirmed the individual has been placed on administrative leave but would not provide further information on personnel matters."
