50-year-old man killed in argument over money, DeKalb County police say

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - A 50-year-old man lost his life Saturday night over a disagreement about money, according to DeKalb County police.

Officers responded to the pool area of an apartment complex within Peachtree Creek Circle at 6:07 p.m. where they found a 50-year-old man dead with multiple gunshot wounds. He was later identified as Cedric Maxwell.

The initial investigation showed that Maxwell was involved in a dispute over money with 31-year-old Dario Howell before gunfire erupted.

Howell was detained without incident shortly after. He has since been arrested for felony murder and aggravated assault and is being held at the DeKalb County Jail.
